This Privacy Policy explains how LectureXP collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the iOS app and related backend services.

Information We Collect

Account and Profile

• Sign in with Apple account identifiers and, if you choose to share them, name or email relay information.
• Profile information such as display name, onboarding status, study language, premium status, goals, and app preferences.

Learning Content

• Lecture links, playlist links, video identifiers, titles, channel names, thumbnails, and lecture metadata.
• Transcripts, AI-generated notes, concepts, recall questions, explanations, recommendations, and learning paths.
• Notes you create in the app and review history generated while studying.
• Audio files you choose to upload for transcription and processing.

Usage, Diagnostics, and Purchases

• Operational logs, timestamps, rate-limit counters, processing state, and error information needed to run and secure the service.
• Subscription status and transaction identifiers received from Apple to unlock premium features. Apple processes payment details; LectureXP does not receive your full payment card number.

How We Use Information

• To provide the app: memory library, transcripts, notes, recall questions, source-grounded answers, search, recommendations, and progress tracking.
• To process videos, lectures, playlists, and audio into study materials.
• To authenticate accounts, sync data, verify purchases, enforce plan limits, and prevent abuse.
• To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the service.

AI and Third-Party Services

LectureXP may process lecture content, transcripts, titles, topics, notes, and generated material with third-party providers as needed to provide the service. Providers may include Supabase for infrastructure, Apple for authentication and payments, YouTube / Google or related services for metadata, and AI providers such as Anthropic or OpenAI for analysis, generation, evaluation, recommendations, and transcription workflows.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to operate the app, when required by law, to protect safety and security, or in connection with a business transfer where permitted by law.

Storage and Retention

Data is stored using cloud infrastructure with access controls. We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain backups for a limited period.

Your Choices and Rights

• You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in Apple ID settings.
• You can delete your LectureXP account from inside the app: Settings -> Account -> Delete account.
• You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or portability where available under applicable law.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your region. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. We use providers that implement safeguards appropriate to their services and applicable law.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date.
